ERWIN, NY — A Steuben County woman was arrested after a domestic dispute escalated into forced entry, property damage, and child endangerment, New York State Police reported on June 25.
Troopers from SP Painted Post responded to a call at 40 Redwood Circle in the town of Erwin at approximately 8:20 a.m. on June 17. Upon arrival, police learned that 32-year-old Raychel M. Finnerty, of Painted Post, had driven to the residence following an argument with a male acquaintance. She allegedly forced entry into an apartment at 13 Redwood Circle, damaging the front door during the confrontation.
Police confirmed that a child was present during the incident.
Finnerty was arrested without further incident and processed at SP Painted Post. She is facing the following charges:
Burglary in the 2nd Degree (Class C felony)
Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree (Class D felony)
Three Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A misdemeanor)
Criminal Tampering in the 3rd Degree (Class B misdemeanor)
She was arraigned in Steuben County’s Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court and released on her own recognizance.
