CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a February 7 shooting that seriously injured a 45-year-old male victim in Cedar Rapids.
Ray Robertson Jr., of Cedar Rapids, was arrested on Tuesday and now faces multiple felony charges, including:
Attempt to Commit Murder
Willful Injury
Possession of a Firearm or Offensive Weapon by a Felon
Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime
Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by an Ineligible Person
The Cedar Rapids Police Department (CRPD) reported that the shooting occurred in an alley located between 8th and 9th Avenue Southwest, where officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
As of Tuesday afternoon, criminal complaint documents had not been posted publicly, so further details regarding the motive or events leading up to the shooting remain unknown.
Robertson remains in custody as the investigation continues.
