Ravina Sonune Arrested in Panaji House Theft

Woman stole Rs6.7 lakh in cash and gold from Taleigao home

Panaji: Panaji Police have apprehended 21-year-old Ravina Suresh Sonune in connection with a house theft in Taleigao, where cash and gold worth over Rs6.7 lakh were stolen.

According to police, a case (Crime No. 15/2026) was filed at Panaji Police Station on February 2, 2026, at 5:05 pm under Sections 305 and 331(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complaint was lodged by 50-year-old Kishor Kunkolkar, resident of H. No. 657, Nagali, Taleigao, Tiswadi, Goa.

Kishor stated that on February 1, 2026, between 1:45 pm and 2:35 pm, an unknown woman entered his home by opening the latch and stole Rs50,000 in cash along with 49 grams of gold ornaments, valued at around Rs6,23,280, from a cupboard.

Following the investigation, police identified and arrested the accused as Ravina Suresh Sonune, wife of Salman Sab, a resident of H. No. 376, Caranzalem, Panaji, currently staying at Indiranagar, Chimbel, Old Goa, Tiswadi. The arrest was made on February 2, 2026.

PSI Deepesh D. Shetkar is continuing the investigation into the case.
