Eight Arrested for Kidnapping and Stealing from Gigleaz Founder

by Ananya Mehta

The Jubilee Hills police have arrested eight individuals involved in the abduction of Ravichandra Reddy, the founder of a local data and financial consultancy, and the theft of valuables from his home in Nandagiri Hills. The accused face multiple charges, including trespassing and extortion.

According to police reports, Ravichandra, who leads Gigleaz Private Limited, had not disbursed salaries to his employees for the past six months. His mother, Vakati Madhavi, filed a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police, explaining that financial difficulties had prevented the payment of 1,200 employees hired through consultancies.

Tensions escalated in the early hours of Wednesday when individuals associated with these consultancies forcibly entered Ravichandra’s residence in HUDA Colony. During the confrontation, he explained that his company, located near IKEA in Gachibowli, had employed 1,200 staff members through various consultancies for a fee. The ongoing financial issues had led to the delay in salary payments, prompting the consultancies and their agents to become aggressive.

Madhavi reported that the attackers assaulted both Ravichandra and his friend Mohan, stealing 84 laptops, 18 mobile phones, and three passports from their home. They also threatened her with severe consequences if she contacted the police.

The suspects, identified as Akula Jagadeesh, Shaik Azad, and Karnati Mukesh, were responsible for the abduction and confinement of Ravichandra at Sunrise Hotel on Srisailam Road. The others involved—Kolagatla Gowtham, Katha Siva Shankar Reddy, Sudagani Sujith Kumar, Kamal Teja, and Rakesh—were implicated in the theft.

Following the complaint, the police formed investigation teams and gathered evidence, including witness statements from Madhavi, private security staff, and others. They conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene, collecting photographs, videos, and detailed sketches under the guidance of the Clues team.

Interrogations led to confessions from the accused, resulting in the recovery of the stolen items. Among the recovered property were 84 laptops, four cars, a motorcycle, 18 mobile phones, and three passports.

Jagadeesh, Azad, and Mukesh were apprehended at Jagruthi Consultancy in Banjara Hills, where they confessed to their roles in the abduction, assault, and theft. While the investigation continues, it has also come to light that employees of Gigleaz Pvt Ltd have filed a cheating complaint against Ravichandra at the Raidurgam police station.
