In a dramatic turn of events, Rathinapuri police arrested two men, S Amburose (25) and T Lawrance (27), for robbing a 29-year-old man at knifepoint early on Wednesday morning. The robbery occurred near Rathinapuri when the victim, Gowtham, was walking home after watching a movie around 1:30 AM.
According to police reports, Gowtham was intercepted by the robbers, who were riding a two-wheeler. The robbers threatened him with a knife and took his mobile phone and ₹700 before fleeing the scene.
After the robbery, Gowtham filed a complaint with the Rathinapuri police. However, shortly after the crime, the robbers were involved in a traffic accident and were admitted to a private hospital. The Traffic Investigation Wing, upon receiving reports of the accident, informed the Rathinapuri police. During the investigation, it was revealed that the two injured men, S Amburose and T Lawrance, were the same individuals involved in the robbery.
Both men were arrested and taken into custody.
Police records indicate that Amburose has five pending cases against him, including theft and robbery. Meanwhile, Lawrance has seven pending cases, further highlighting their criminal history.
