FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Former professional football tight end Rashod Kent, 45, was arrested on January 5 after deputies discovered marijuana, fentanyl, and more than $10,000 in his vehicle.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies stopped a Dodge Challenger on Morgantown Avenue for an expired registration. When approaching the vehicle, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana, prompting a search.
Authorities say the search revealed 113 grams of marijuana, 28 grams of fentanyl, and over $10,000 in cash. Deputies added that Kent attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended without further incident.
Kent now faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He has posted bond and is no longer listed in the state Division of Corrections database.
