KARACHI, Pakistan — The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi has arrested Rashid Ali, an unlicensed travel agent accused of human trafficking and defrauding citizens of millions of rupees through false promises of jobs in Cambodia.

According to FIA officials, the suspect was apprehended during a targeted raid in a local Karachi neighborhood. Authorities recovered eight passports and multiple travel documents from his possession. Rashid Ali was reportedly charging individuals large sums under the pretense of securing them employment abroad, despite having no legal license to conduct such operations.

FIA noted that the accused failed to give a satisfactory explanation for the passports in his possession. A formal investigation has now been launched to identify possible accomplices and victims.

The FIA confirmed that a nationwide crackdown is currently underway to identify and arrest individuals involved in human trafficking and illegal overseas job scams.
