NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A 35-year-old man, Rashad Brown, has been arrested after allegedly committing two armed robberies and injuring a gas station clerk in the process, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Police were called to the Sunoco station on Rivers Avenue where they say Brown shoved a clerk to the ground and robbed the store at knife point. The clerk sustained injuries severe enough to require surgery, officials confirmed.

Later that same day, Hanahan Police responded to a similar incident on Remount Road, where Brown is also accused of committing a knife-point robbery.

Authorities located Brown at a motel on Rivers Avenue, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Hill Finklea Detention Center.

Brown currently faces charges of strong-armed robbery and second-degree assault and battery. Additional charges related to the Hanahan robbery are pending.
