On Thursday, July 24, a photo of rapper Nino Paid being taken into custody went viral on social media. In the image, Nino—born Jacquwan Andrews—is shirtless and handcuffed, surrounded by what appears to be a heavily armed S.W.A.T. team.

According to police records obtained by XXL on July 25, Nino was booked in Prince George’s County, Maryland, on two charges: unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and theft of property valued between $25,000 and $100,000. The 2025 XXL Freshman was released on his own recognizance the next day. His trial is scheduled for September 26.

Details about the arrest remain limited. XXL has reached out to Nino’s team and the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office for comment.

This is not Nino’s first run-in with the law over stolen vehicles. In a 2024 interview with DJ Smallz, he admitted to previous arrests for driving stolen cars. During his XXL Freshman ABCs, Nino reflected on his past, saying, “That’s what we used to be doing. We used to be in them. We ain’t gotta go back to that no more.”
