NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — Randy Scott Villareal, 39, was arrested Saturday following a high-speed chase through North Charleston that ended with a vehicle crash, according to the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD).

Officers spotted Villareal’s vehicle speeding on Remount Road near Rivers Avenue just before 9 p.m. on August 30. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Villareal fled onto I-26 westbound, reaching speeds of 80 to 90 mph.

The pursuit ended when Villareal’s vehicle collided with a pickup truck and crashed into a ditch. After the crash, officers discovered multiple stolen items inside the vehicle, including credit cards, Social Security cards, driver’s licenses, birth certificates, and license plates, all belonging to different individuals.

Villareal faces three charges: financial transaction card theft, failure to stop for blue lights, and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. He was booked into the Charleston County Jail.
