Randy Salias Charged for Illegal Trash Dumping in Houston

Accused of Dumping Trash He Was Paid to Haul Away

by Amelia Crawford

HOUSTON, Texas – A 35-year-old man, Randy Salias, has been charged with a Class A misdemeanor for allegedly dumping trash illegally after being paid to remove it.

Salias reportedly charged customers to haul away items such as furniture and appliances, only to illegally discard them near his home, just a few miles from the dumping site.

Authorities say that one customer caught him in the act, prompting the investigation and subsequent charges.

According to experts, illegal dumping often occurs within two to five miles of the perpetrator’s residence — a pattern that appears consistent in this case.

While there’s nothing illegal about operating a junk-hauling service, law enforcement emphasizes that improper disposal of waste is a crime, and offenders will be held accountable.

The investigation into Salias’ activities is ongoing.
