POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A Lakeland woman was arrested on Saturday afternoon after deputies found her inside a stranger’s home, eating beans directly from a can.
The incident happened around 2:21 p.m. when the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary in progress at a residence on 1st Street West in Auburndale. A neighbor had notified the homeowner after witnessing someone break a window and enter the house.
Deputies arrived at the scene to find 39-year-old Randi Chanel Reagan still inside the home. According to the arrest report, Reagan was sitting down and eating a can of beans. She appeared to be under the influence, exhibiting slurred speech, unsteady balance, and dilated pupils.
While shouting at deputies, Reagan admitted to entering the home unlawfully but refused to answer further questions or cooperate with law enforcement.
She was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center, where she was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
