The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Navi Mumbai Crime Branch on Friday uncovered a major drug racket operating across the Taloja and Kalamboli areas, arresting two brothers involved in narcotics distribution.

Senior Inspector Sandeep Nigade said the operation stemmed from a tipoff about drug sales from a rental flat in Heritage Castle, Taloja Phase-2. A raid conducted around 7 a.m. led to the arrest of Navjotsingh Randhawa alias Vicky (34) and Gurjotsingh Randhawa alias Sunny (32). Officers seized 158 grams of heroin and 40 grams of opium, collectively valued at Rs1.2 crore.

According to the ANC, the brothers, originally from Punjab, had been living in Navi Mumbai for several years and previously stayed in Kalamboli. They were reportedly running a narcotics supply network across both the Kalamboli and Taloja nodes. Police are now searching for five more members of their syndicate.

The Randhawa brothers have been booked under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
