SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Rance White, accused of killing his former partner, Amanda Jaikaran, in her Schenectady home last year, has changed his plea and is now pleading guilty to her murder.

White had originally entered a not guilty plea when he was arraigned in April 2025. The stabbing occurred in March 2025 at 818 Lincoln Avenue, where court documents say Jaikaran suffered multiple stab wounds to her neck, chest, arms, and hands.

White is scheduled to be sentenced on March 31, 2026, and faces 22 years to life in prison.
