Police arrested five individuals in connection with a fraudulent land sale involving forged documents. The accused were produced in court and remanded to police custody for three days.
The case began when a complaint was filed on February 13, 2024, regarding a suspicious sale of 1.56 hectares of agricultural land once owned by Lilabai, a resident of Jabaroda Nathu, who passed away in 2003.
Investigations revealed that Ramlal alias Ramsingh Bodana of Vandi Lodha, along with his mother Sitabai alias Shaitan, forged documents and an Aadhaar card in Lilabai’s name to claim ownership of the land. The forged sale was executed and officially registered on December 27, 2023, at the Registrar’s Office in Badnir, Ujjain.
A case was registered against the accused under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code including 420 (cheating), 467, 468, 471 (forgery), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), and 34 (common intention).
Sitabai was arrested and presented in court, while other suspects—Rajvendra Singh, Majhapal Singh, Javiya, Kudash Ali, and Laxminarayan from Indore—are in custody for interrogation. Police continue gathering evidence to uncover the full extent of the fraudulent land registration.
