UNION COUNTY, Tenn. — A man convicted on multiple drug charges in Union and Claiborne Counties was sentenced to 28 years in prison, court officials said.
Ralph Ray, 49, pleaded guilty on June 9 to several felony charges. In Claiborne County, Ray admitted to possession of over 26 grams of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He also pleaded guilty in Union County to possession of over 26 grams of methamphetamine with intent to sell.
Judge Zachary R. Walden of the Eighth Judicial District Criminal Court handed down 14-year sentences for each case. The sentences are to be served consecutively, totaling 28 years in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
The investigations were conducted by the Union County Sheriff’s Department and the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office.
