THEODORE, Ala. (WPMI) — After nearly eight years on the run, 64-year-old Ralph Kennedy Pollock has been arrested in Key West, Florida, in connection with the 2017 death of Joyce “Chassidy” Bosarge of Theodore, Alabama.
Bosarge’s body was discovered on the side of Rebel Road in November 2017, prompting a homicide investigation by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Just a month later, Pollock—an acquaintance of the victim—was named as a person of interest. In 2018, authorities issued warrants for his arrest for obstructing governmental operations and abuse of a corpse.
Sheriff Paul Burch, who was a captain at the time of Bosarge’s death, noted Pollock’s suspicious behavior. After initially refusing to provide a DNA sample, Pollock vanished. “He quit his job of 22 years, packed up, and moved. We couldn’t find him,” Burch said.
Despite years of failed attempts to locate him, Pollock was found living in Key West under aliases “Ty” and “Tyrone,” according to social media tips. He was taken into custody by Monroe County authorities and booked into jail as unemployed with no fixed address.
Joyce Zirlott, Bosarge’s mother, shared her heartbreak and hope: “I want Chassidy to save other people’s lives by getting him off the streets.”
Pollock remains in the Monroe County Jail awaiting extradition to Alabama. It is still unclear what formal charges he may face beyond the outstanding warrants.
