Sainpau police in Dholpur have arrested Rajni (32) and her lover Shahrukh (20) for the murder of her husband Ravikant Singh (47) in Daunari village. Singh’s body was found in a 50-foot-deep pit near Shergarh Fort, with his face and head crushed with a stone.
According to police, Ravikant went missing on December 27 after visiting the market. His cousin filed a missing report, and on December 29, Rajni claimed her husband’s spirit was roaming near the fort. Police discovered the body outside the fort’s boundary wall and summoned an FSL team for evidence collection.
Shahrukh confessed during interrogation that he had gotten Ravikant drunk and, at Rajni’s insistence, killed him. Rajni was later arrested. Ravikant, originally from Bengaluru, was a daily wage worker and father to a seven-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son.
