Dausa police on Sunday arrested 40-year-old Rajiv Bairwa alias Raju, a resident of Sikandra, Jaipur, who was on the run for four years for running a fraudulent job racket. Rajiv was wanted in multiple cases of fraud and had a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head.

Posing as an income tax department officer, Rajiv lured unemployed youth by promising government jobs. He charged lakhs of rupees in exchange for fake appointment letters and forged selection lists for posts like lower division clerk in the income tax department.

Police revealed that Rajiv was the prime accused in two major fraud cases registered at Bandikui police station on October 1, 2021, and January 3, 2023. To evade arrest, he frequently changed phone numbers and shifted locations within Jaipur. A local court declared him an absconder during ongoing investigations.

Teams from the Dausa Special Task Force (DST) and cyber cell used technical surveillance to track his whereabouts. Once his location was confirmed in Jaipur, police conducted a 48-hour surveillance operation that culminated in his arrest.
