In a coordinated anti-narcotics operation, Latasil Police carried out a series of raids across multiple city locations, seizing heroin, large sums of cash, and vehicles believed to have been acquired through drug proceeds.
The operation began in Kharghuli Hatishil, where Rajdeep Chungkrang, a resident of Khanapara Debanagar, was arrested. Authorities recovered two packets of heroin weighing 10.82g and 11.74g, Rs1,150 in cash, and a Honda Activa with a broken number plate from his possession.
Following Chungkrang’s interrogation, police raided the home of Basanta Doley in Jayanagar. Although the team faced resistance, they managed to recover half-burnt traces of heroin, a Hyundai i20 (AS01EV7465), and a scooter (AS01FA8254) suspected to have been purchased with drug money.
The investigation then led to Kushal Doley’s residence in Rukminigaon. There, officers seized 20 vials of heroin and Rs1,96,170 in cash from a Mahindra Scorpio (AS01GE5493) parked on the premises.
Currently, both Rajdeep Chungkrang and Basanta Doley are in custody, and legal proceedings are underway. Police believe the operation has dealt a significant blow to a local drug distribution network and vowed continued action against narcotics trafficking in the region.
