Rajasthan: In a major crackdown on examination fraud, the Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested Ashok Kumar Bishnoi (29) for using a dummy candidate to appear in his place in the Senior Teacher (Secondary Education) Grade II Competitive Examination-2022, conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC).
Along with Ashok, the dummy candidate Vijay Pal Singh (30) was also apprehended. Both had been absconding for nearly two years, frequently changing hideouts and concealing their identities.
Details of the Scam:
The RPSC exam, covering General Knowledge & Educational Psychology and Science, was originally held on December 24, 2022. Papers were later leaked, resulting in cancellation and re-examination on January 29, 2023.
Ashok Kumar Bishnoi, son of Hanumanaram Bishnoi from Dhorimanna, Barmer, had seated a dummy candidate, Hanumanaram Bishnoi, in his place to appear for both subjects.
Hanumanaram, serving as Senior Teacher (Social Science) at Government Senior Secondary School, Bilad, Jalore, was arrested earlier on February 17, 2026.
Ashok had been absconding for two years; a reward of Rs 5,000 was announced for his capture.
Additional Arrests in the Scam:
Surat Ram Meena of Sawai Madhopur seated dummy candidate Mahipal Bishnoi, a 4th-year MBBS student at Government Medical College, Kota, for the Science examination.
For the General Knowledge & Educational Psychology exam, the dummy candidate Vijay Pal Singh, son of Jagdish Chandra Bishnoi of Sanchore, Jalore, was used. A reward of Rs 10,000 had been announced for his arrest.
Mahipal Bishnoi and Vijay Pal Singh were both apprehended on February 17, 2026.
The SOG continues to investigate other accomplices and the extent of the Rajasthan PSC Senior Teacher exam fraud, which involved paper leaks, dummy candidates, and absconding suspects.
