Two cyber fraudsters, Shriram Meena and Sumit Meena, both residents of Rajasthan, were arrested for allegedly duping individuals under the guise of offering monetary rewards for completing online tasks. The duo was apprehended after an investigation into a complaint about a Rs70,000 fraud that was reported to the Cyber Crime South Police Station on October 10.

The police recovered seven mobile phones, seven debit cards, and 13 SIM cards from the possession of the accused. According to the authorities, Shriram and Sumit were allegedly running a network of fraudulent schemes where they provided bank accounts to other cyber criminals, facilitating illegal financial transactions.

During interrogation, police learned that Shriram provided bank accounts to other cyber thugs, while Sumit managed these accounts in collaboration with the fraudsters. The two criminals reportedly received 10% of the total amount defrauded from the victims.

The fraud was brought to light after a man filed a complaint about being scammed with the promise of earning money by completing a social media-based task. Following the filing of the FIR, a team from the Cyber Police arrested the two accused from Jaipur on Saturday. After being presented in court, they were remanded into police custody for two days.

Meanwhile, in a related incident, Gurugram Cyber Police arrested three individuals, including an assistant branch manager from IDFC Bank, for their involvement in a fraudulent stock market investment scheme. The bank employee allegedly aided in providing bank accounts to cyber criminals. The two other arrested suspects were directly involved in executing the fraud.

The bank account used in the scam was opened under a fake firm by Abhishek Tiwari, the assistant manager, with the collaboration of Deepak Rajput and Rajendar Kumar. They allegedly duped victims by offering fake stock market investments, and Abhishek received ₹10,000 for his role in the fraud.

The investigation is still ongoing, with authorities continuing to gather information and track other possible victims of these cyber fraud schemes.
