Rajamahendravaram police arrested a five-member gang of real estate brokers on Tuesday for allegedly creating fake land documents to enable illegal land registrations.
The accused have been identified as Md. Khasim Basha, Maddireddi Lakshmi Narayana, M. Nagendra Prasad, S. Bhaskara Rao, and Yadagiri Suresh.
The scam came to light after a complaint was filed in June by Gollapalli Kasi Vishalakshi, an NRI doctor from Akiveedu mandal, West Godavari district. The complaint revealed fraudulent land dealings facilitated by the accused gang.
Police investigations are ongoing to identify other possible suspects and recover losses from affected victims.
