A Saran resident, Raj Roshan (also known as Mukesh Gupta or Lala), was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the Rs 1 crore robbery that occurred at a property dealer’s office in Kankarbagh, Patna, on Tuesday. The robbery took place when six to seven criminals, armed with guns, held two individuals—Abhishek Kumar and Raju Kumar—at gunpoint during a down payment exchange for a land deal.

According to Sadar ASP Abhinav, the arrested individual, Raj Roshan, hailing from Chhapra, has been sent to jail. Several other suspects have been detained for questioning. Authorities are actively conducting raids at over 12 locations, including Boring Road, Kankarbagh, Athmalgola, and Bakhtiyarpur. Roshan’s family members are also being questioned in connection with the crime. The investigation is being supported by a technical team and extensive police efforts.

Kankarbagh Station House Officer (SHO) Neeraj Kumar Thakur indicated that local miscreants were likely involved in the robbery. The Special Task Force (STF) is also assisting in the investigation, with Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghulam Sarwar of STF visiting the Kankarbagh police station on Wednesday to oversee the operation.

The investigation has revealed that the victims, Abhishek Kumar and Raju Kumar, had been shown a plot of land in Ramkrishna Nagar, which they agreed to purchase for Rs 1.75 crore. The robbers ambushed them during the down payment transaction.
