Four individuals, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of 46-year-old mason Raj Kumar in Jagadhri. The accused are identified as Rahul from Shanti Colony, his wife Rekha alias Tripti, his brother-in-law Bunty, and their friend Pramod from Gulab Nagar Colony.
Inspector Raj Pal, Station House Officer (SHO) of Jagadhri City Police Station, reported that Raj Kumar had a financial dispute with Rahul, a laborer from the same neighborhood. On Sunday evening, Raj Kumar went to Rahul’s house to pay his daily wages. This led to a heated argument, and in a fit of rage, Rahul allegedly struck Raj Kumar on the head with a liquor bottle, killing him instantly.
To cover up the crime, Rahul and his friend Pramod transported the body on a motorcycle and dumped it near Kharwan village. The entire act was captured on a CCTV camera in the area, which provided crucial evidence for the police investigation. Meanwhile, Rahul’s wife Rekha and his brother-in-law Bunty reportedly destroyed evidence at their home to obstruct the inquiry.
The police arrested the four accused, and they were produced in court on Tuesday, where they were remanded to judicial custody. Investigations into the case are ongoing, with the police continuing to gather more evidence.
