Raichur Police Arrest Five in Major Property Fraud Case

Gang caught forging documents to sell fake land plots

In a significant bust against property fraud, Raichur district police arrested five individuals accused of forging documents to illegally acquire and sell land. The accused—Mohammad Javid, Akshay Kumar, Upendra Kumar, Neelakantha, and Anjaneya—were found with Rs20 lakh in cash, believed to be proceeds from fraudulent land sales.

The gang targeted vacant and unused plots, creating fake ownership papers to deceive buyers. They also produced counterfeit Aadhaar and PAN cards to legitimize transactions, often using fictitious names. The arrests relate to six cases registered at Sadar Bazaar and Sirwar police stations.

, while the others remain in judicial custody. A Kia car, purchased with illegal funds, was also seized. Police continue to investigate possible involvement of government officials in the forgery.

Authorities urge the public to thoroughly verify property records before transactions, cautioning about increasing land frauds. Strict legal action will be taken against all those aiding such crimes.
