The investigation into the Kompally Malnadu restaurant drug case has taken a significant turn as the Eagle team, Telangana’s anti-narcotics task force, intensifies its probe into alleged high-profile connections. Rahul Teja, son of an Additional SP in the Intelligence department, has come under scrutiny for his involvement.
On Monday, the task force arrested two more suspects, Harsha and Mohan, the latter being the son of a police officer, both sent to judicial remand. The total arrests in the case have reached eight.
Sources reveal that Rahul Teja has close ties with Surya Annamaneni, the prime accused in the earlier Malnadu restaurant drug bust. The current case reportedly involves drugs couriered from Delhi hidden inside women’s slippers, delivered to Surya, which police later seized.
Rahul Teja was previously wanted for his alleged key role in a drug case in Nizamabad last year and had been absconding since. Investigations suggest that Rahul, Surya, Mohan, and Harsha were part of a drug distribution network sourcing narcotics from Bengaluru, Goa, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and other regions. They allegedly sold drugs at private parties they organised.
Authorities continue to investigate, aiming to uncover more individuals involved and to map the financial and logistical framework of the drug operation.
