Rahul Singh of Chotu Gang Held for Delhi Armed Robbery

Crime Branch nabs gang member linked to 2023 heist case

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a key member of the notorious Narendra alias Chotu gang in connection with an armed robbery case reported at Barakhamba Road Police Station.

The accused, 37-year-old Singh alias Rahul, a resident of Chandan Nagar in Gurugram, Haryana, was apprehended following a tip-off from an anonymous source. Police used technical surveillance and intelligence inputs to track him down and arrest him near Nirmal City in Greater Noida.

According to officials, the robbery took place on June 16, 2023, and involved three armed assailants who attempted to loot a money exchanger at gunpoint. Singh has confessed to participating in the heist and admitted to being an active member of the Chotu gang.

The investigation, led by ACP Narender Beniwal and Inspector Sandeep Swami, also revealed Singh’s involvement in a silver heist in Agra. A habitual offender, Singh has served 14 months in jail and has multiple criminal cases registered against him across Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Authorities continue their investigation into the gang’s operations and are working to identify additional accomplices.
