Chitaipur Police have arrested Rahul Pal, a hospital employee from Bhadohi district, for stealing three gold bangles from the body of a woman who died during treatment at a hospital in Bhikharipur on May 2. The theft occurred while the body was in the hospital’s mortuary, and Pal’s actions were captured by CCTV cameras installed at the facility.
According to Praveen Singh, the in-charge of Chitaipur Police Station, Pal was apprehended late Tuesday night after the CCTV footage revealed his involvement. The stolen bangles were recovered from him during the investigation.
The incident involved Bina Keshari, a woman from Ahraura, Mirzapur district, who was attending her daughter Nancy’s engagement ceremony at a banquet hall in Manduadih on May 2. After falling ill, Bina was admitted to the hospital but sadly passed away during treatment. Her son-in-law, Vimal Keshari, later informed the police that Bina’s three gold bangles were missing from her body.
Based on Vimal’s complaint, Chitaipur police initiated an investigation. Upon reviewing the CCTV footage from the mortuary, they identified Rahul Pal as the person who stole the bangles. Pal was arrested shortly after.
Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
