The Delhi Police have arrested a 34-year-old e-rickshaw driver named Rahul, who was allegedly involved in a series of house burglaries across Dwarka. According to police reports on Thursday, he was linked to at least five separate theft cases in the area.
The investigation began on June 22 after a house theft was reported at the Chhawla police station. DCP (Dwarka) Ankit Singh stated that CCTV footage and digital trail analysis helped track the suspect’s movements. Field intelligence further assisted in pinpointing his location.
Rahul, a resident of Najafgarh, was identified as a repeat offender. Acting on a tip-off, the police team located and arrested him near the Dwarka Shamshan Ghat. The arrest was made by officers from Dwarka North police station.
Recovered items included three mobile phones and the e-rickshaw used in the crimes. During interrogation, Rahul confessed to committing the burglaries due to financial distress and admitted to using his e-rickshaw for transportation during the thefts. He also revealed the involvement of an accomplice.
Further investigation showed Rahul’s involvement in five cases under sections 305 and 331 of the IPC in areas including Ranhola, Bindapur, and Chhawla.
