The case against alleged serial killer Rahul alias Bholu Karmvir Ishwar Jat was committed to the sessions court of Valsad on Friday. Police submitted an extensive 4,183-page chargesheet containing details from over 100 witnesses and numerous pieces of evidence.

Jat was arrested by Pardi police on November 24, 2024, for his alleged role in the murder and rape of a 19-year-old college student near Udvada railway station on November 14. Further investigations revealed his involvement in five prior murders committed after June 2024.

A native of Mokhra Khas Pana Shyam village in the Meham division of Rohtak district, Jat has a history of criminal activities, including arrests for truck theft and violations of the Arms Act. He had previously been arrested for truck theft and arms trafficking across Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

One of his earliest alleged murders was of a visually challenged man, Faiyaz Ahmad Shaikh, in Dabhoi in June 2024. Jat reportedly strangled Shaikh to death after meeting him in a train compartment for disabled passengers and stole his valuables.

Jat is also accused of a killing spree involving five murders between October 20 and November 24, spanning across Gujarat, West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. Notably, he stabbed 60-year-old tabla teacher Soumitra Chatterjee multiple times aboard the Katihar Express; this case is registered with Howrah GRP police.
