Khammam Excise officials arrested three drug traffickers transporting ganja from Odisha to Maharashtra during an operation near Rallavagu in Anantapur municipality on Friday. Authorities recovered 30.5 kilograms of ganja valued at approximately rS16 lakh.
The arrested individuals were identified as Rahul Ashok Anwal, Sanket Balasaheb Lodwal, and Harichandra Kishore Lonkar, all Maharashtra residents. They were transferred to the Khammam-2 Excise Station for further investigation.
In a separate operation, a team from the State Task Force (STF) led by Excise Superintendent Anji Reddy seized 41 bottles of non-duty paid liquor imported from Goa and Delhi through air transport. The liquor was intercepted during road checks and handed over to Saroornagar Excise Station personnel. Cases have been registered against those involved in both operations.
