The Nakodar police have arrested four individuals in connection with the murder of Jugraj, a resident of Mehmuwal Yusafpur village in Shahkot. Jugraj was shot dead during a violent clash between two groups, police said on Saturday.
According to the Station House Officer (SHO), the accused were identified as Rafal alias Manni of Khunkhun village, Balraj Singh alias Raj Aujla of Jahangir village, and Novdeep Singh of Talwandi Bharo village. All three, along with accomplices, allegedly opened fire during the altercation that led to Jugraj’s death.
The incident came to light after a complaint was lodged by Kavita, the wife of the deceased. She told police that she had been living with Jugraj for the past two years at Total Fitness Gym on Mehatpur Road, Nakodar. Jugraj worked there as a cleaner and handled other maintenance tasks.
Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of involvement of other group members and to recover any remaining weapons used in the crime.
