JACKSON, Miss. — Two suspects were arrested following the recovery of approximately 100 pounds of methamphetamine during a drug bust in Jackson.
According to DPS Spokeswoman Bailey Martin, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, with help from Capitol Police, conducted the operation in early August.
On August 7, officers executed a search warrant at a home on South Crownpointe Drive and arrested Racquel Taylor for aggravated trafficking after discovering the large quantity of methamphetamine.
A few days later, on August 12, authorities arrested Tyrone Samuel on charges including aggravated trafficking and conspiracy. Samuel was previously out on bond from Madison County.
The bust also led to the seizure of two pounds of marijuana, 1,000 doses of counterfeit M30 Oxycodone pills containing fentanyl, a Draco 7.62 rifle, a stolen Ford Bronco reported from Kentucky, and a GMC Yukon.
Officials say more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
