On Thursday, January 30, Rachel Packard, 29, an employee at the Minuteman gas station in Kinston, was arrested after authorities discovered she was distributing narcotics at the business. The investigation was led by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office’s Street Crimes and Ready Response (SCARR) unit, with additional support from the LCSO Narcotics Division and NC ALE.
Packard was located in her vehicle at the gas station and found in possession of fentanyl and other controlled substances. She was charged with multiple offenses, including felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or distribute Schedule I and Schedule VI controlled substances, as well as felony conspiracy. Packard was booked into the Lenoir County Jail on a $51,000 secured bond.
The investigation also led to the arrest of Xavier Mitchell, 22, who was charged with felony conspiracy. Mitchell was served at the Lenoir County Magistrate’s Office and received a $10,000 secured bond.
Packard faces significant legal consequences as authorities continue to address drug-related crimes in the area.
