Quntay Thomas Sentenced to 14+ Years for Meth Distribution

Columbus Man Gets 175 Months for 2019 Meth Case

by Amelia Crawford

Columbus man Quntay Thomas, 40, has been sentenced to 175 months (over 14 years) in federal prison for methamphetamine distribution. His sentencing follows a series of controlled buys in 2019, during which Thomas sold large quantities of pure methamphetamine. In addition to prison time, he will serve three years of supervised release.

Thomas was arrested after DEA agents tracked his activities, including a drug transaction at a Columbus gas station in May 2019. Further investigation led to the discovery of 418.93 grams of meth and a loaded firearm in his residence in November 2023.

U.S. Attorney Peter D. Leary emphasized that repeat offenders like Thomas will be held accountable for their harmful impact on the community. Local law enforcement and federal agencies collaborated on the investigation to ensure justice was served.
