Quintez Whisenant & Marquariius Washington Arrested in Birmingham Shooting

Suspects Charged for Shooting Into Unoccupied Vehicle

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Authorities have arrested Quintez Whisenant, 19, and Marquariius Washington, 22, in connection with a shooting into an unoccupied vehicle within the Dr. Morrell Todd Holmes Housing Community.

Incident & Investigation
On March 11, at 8:15 a.m., Birmingham officers responded to reports of a vehicle being shot into in the 800 block of 44th Place North. The shooting had occurred the night before.

Police gathered information, pinpointed the suspects’ possible location, and relayed it to the Discharging Unit and HICOPP Unit. Within three hours, both suspects were apprehended in the same area.

Charges & Bond
After investigation, the Jefferson County Magistrate’s Office issued the following charges:

Quintez Whisenant:

Discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle
Criminal mischief (3rd degree)
Tampering with physical evidence
Bond: $27,000
Marquariius Washington:

Discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle
Criminal mischief (3rd degree)
Bond: $21,000
Both suspects are currently held at the Jefferson County Jail.
