LONG ISLAND, N.Y. — A man and woman from Queens are facing federal charges after allegedly stealing more than $2.8 million from the bank account of a Long Island couple who vanished mysteriously over five months ago.

Yinye Wang, 36, and Quiju Wu, 55, are accused of orchestrating a high-level bank fraud scheme that involved transferring the missing couple’s financial assets into Wu’s personal account — which was later converted to a joint account with rights of survivorship, according to a federal criminal complaint.

Though federal prosecutors have not named the victims in the court filings, the timeline and financial details closely align with the disappearance of JuanJuan Zwang and her husband Peishuan Fan, a wealthy couple who went missing from their $3.8 million Old Brookville mansion on March 31, 2025, just hours after a family dinner with their sons.

The Nassau County Police Department continues to actively investigate their disappearance.
