Police in Wilmington have arrested a man accused of carrying out a robbery in which the suspect was allegedly armed with a knife.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded at approximately 9:08 p.m. on February 14 to the 100 block of South Harrison Street after receiving reports of an assault and robbery.

Investigators say the victim was assaulted during the incident, and the suspect was reportedly armed with a knife. The victim was transported to a hospital and listed in stable condition.

The case was assigned to Joran Merced, a detective with the department’s Criminal Investigations Division. The investigation led authorities to identify Qaadair Parks, 20, as the suspect, and warrants were issued for his arrest.

Police located Parks on March 6 in the 200 block of North Franklin Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Authorities say Parks faces several charges, including:

First-degree robbery

Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony

Possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited

Second-degree conspiracy

Parks was later arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after bail was set at $34,000 secured.
