Punjab Police Arrest Woman Constable with 17.7 gm Heroin in Bathinda

Police constable arrested with heroin during an anti-narcotics operation

In a shocking development, Punjab Police have arrested a woman police constable, Amandeep Kaur, after she was found carrying 17.7 grams of heroin in Bathinda district. The arrest took place on Wednesday evening, following a tip-off and a joint operation with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF).

Deputy Superintendent of Police (City-1) Harbans Singh confirmed that Kaur’s SUV was intercepted near the Badal flyover in Bathinda. During the search, the police discovered the heroin in her possession.

Amandeep Kaur, who was previously posted at the Mansa Police Station, was currently attached to the Bathinda Police Lines. Following her arrest, she was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The incident highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and the need for vigilance within law enforcement agencies. The police have vowed to continue their efforts to curb the spread of narcotics in the region.
