The Puducherry police have intensified their crackdown on illegal moneylending after two tragic suicides allegedly linked to harassment by loan sharks.
Under the jurisdiction of Orleanpet and Thirukkanur police stations, authorities have arrested three individuals involved in lending money at exorbitant interest rates. The arrested have been identified as:
Dhanasekar, resident of Govindasalai
Selvaraju, resident of Kandappa Nagar, Nainarmandapam
Selvam, resident of Sakthi Nagar, Saram
The police said these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal financial activities in the city and prevent further tragedies.
