PRYOR, OKLAHOMA — Melvin Heinze, a Pryor man, is in police custody after being accused of breaking into several storage units over the weekend. According to the Pryor Police Department, surveillance footage captured Heinze as he broke into the storage facility, with the suspect leaving the scene in a black van.
Using license plate recognition cameras, officers were able to track down the vehicle the following day and performed a traffic stop. Heinze admitted to the break-ins, and authorities discovered stolen property inside the van at the time of his arrest.
Police are now working to return the recovered stolen items to their rightful owners.
In addition to the charges related to the storage facility burglary, Heinze is also wanted in Osage County on a separate burglary charge.
