Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached property worth Rs1 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler, alleging it was acquired through the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking, officials said.

The attached property, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, includes a double-storey residential house built on 12 marlas of land in Sultan Mohalla, Saidakadal. The owner has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Bota, who is involved in a case registered at Rainawari Police Station.

Investigations revealed that the property was purchased using funds generated from drug trafficking activities. Consequently, authorities attached it under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.

Police said the attachment proceedings were conducted following legal procedures and in the presence of two independent witnesses. The order restricts the owner from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property until further notice.

Officials emphasized that such actions are part of a broader crackdown on narcotics networks in the region, aiming to curb illicit wealth accumulation from drug-related crimes.
