PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A 42-year-old woman from Prince Frederick has been charged with multiple counts of theft after allegedly attempting to steal over $2,100 worth of merchandise from Ross Dress for Less and Ulta Beauty on the same evening.
According to Calvert County court documents, Jerry Lee Duvall was arrested on April 22, 2025, following two reported shoplifting incidents at retail locations along Solomons Island Road.
At approximately 7:59 p.m., deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to Ross, where store staff said Duvall was seen pushing a cart full of items past all registers without paying. When confronted, she allegedly became confrontational and told the cashier to call the police. The cart, containing items valued at $1,316.42, was recovered.
While deputies were handling that report, a manager from neighboring Ulta Beauty approached officers and reported a separate theft attempt involving Duvall. She allegedly tried to exit with $854.55 worth of merchandise, but returned the items after being confronted by store staff.
Combined, the merchandise from both stores totaled 153 items valued at $2,170.97, all of which were documented in receipts submitted as evidence. Surveillance footage and employee statements supported the allegations.
Duvall was arrested at the scene and booked into the Calvert County Detention Center. She was later released on her own recognizance. Both Ross and Ulta requested that she be permanently trespassed from their stores.
She faces the following charges:
Theft Scheme: $1,500 to less than $25,000 (Felony)
Theft: $100 to under $1,500 (Two Counts – Misdemeanor)
A court date has not yet been announced.
