MT. VERNON, Ind. — A pregnant woman was arrested during a traffic stop for driving under the influence and drug-related offenses.
Authorities say 24-year-old Addyson Brown-Jones was pulled over by Mt. Vernon Police for an expired license plate. During the stop, officers observed signs that she was under the influence of drugs.
An oral fluid test revealed positive results for methamphetamine and amphetamines. Brown-Jones claimed she had not used drugs due to her pregnancy but admitted to taking benzodiazepine without a prescription.
A vehicle search uncovered substances that tested positive for methamphetamine, fentanyl, THC vapes, and various drug paraphernalia.
Brown-Jones was taken into custody and is being held at the Posey County Jail on charges including possession of narcotics, meth, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and driving while intoxicated.
