In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Pune Crime Branch seized 28 kilograms of ganja, valued at Rs17 lakh, in a raid at an open plot near Mundhwa-Koregaon Park Road. Two individuals, Pramod Sudhakar Kamble (44) from Solapur and Vishal Datta Parkhe (41) from Pune, were arrested in connection with the haul.
The operation followed intelligence received by the Anti-Narcotics Cell-2 regarding a large stash of ganja hidden in an open plot. Acting on the tip-off, a team of police officers swiftly executed a raid at the location and recovered the drugs. The seized ganja was valued at Rs16.80 lakh, with additional materials also confiscated as evidence.
The arrested individuals were taken into custody, and a case has been registered against them at the Mundhwa Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
This successful operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajendra Mulik. The raid was led by Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad, with support from Assistant Police Inspector Nitinkumar Naik and a team of dedicated police constables.
Authorities continue their investigation to track down further suppliers and accomplices involved in this major drug trafficking ring in Pune.
