The Hyderabad Police Commissioner’s Task Force from the Khairtabad Zone, along with the Musheerabad Police, arrested a drug peddler and a consumer and seized 367 grams of hash oil during a raid in Hyderabad.
The operation was carried out near Risalagadda in Bakaram, which falls under the jurisdiction of Musheerabad Police Station.
Police identified the arrested peddler as Dovari Jyothi Ratna Pradeep (34), a native of Guntur District in Andhra Pradesh, currently residing in Balaji Nagar, Yapral in Hyderabad. The consumer was identified as Kota Vijay Kumar (46), a resident of Golkonda Cross Roads in Musheerabad.
Acting on credible information, the Task Force team conducted the raid on March 7 and caught the accused while Pradeep was allegedly waiting to deliver the narcotic substance to Vijay Kumar.
During the operation, police seized 53 small plastic containers containing hash oil with a total weight of 367 grams. Officers also confiscated a two-wheeler and three mobile phones from the accused.
During questioning, Pradeep reportedly admitted that he had been procuring hash oil in bulk with the assistance of his associate Shaik Mahaboob Basha from Guntur. The substance was allegedly sourced from a supplier identified as Tambeli Chatrapati, also known as Tirupati, from Visakhapatnam.
According to investigators, the hash oil was purchased in bulk containers for around ₹50,000 per litre. It was then repacked into small containers of about 5 grams each and sold to consumers for Rs2,000 to Rs2,500 per packet, generating illegal profits.
Police further stated that Mahaboob Basha allegedly maintained a list of drug consumers and coordinated supply by arranging conference calls with Pradeep whenever orders were placed. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify other individuals involved in the distribution network.
