In a sustained effort to tackle drug trafficking, Phagwara police arrested three individuals in two separate operations, seizing heroin, intoxicant powder, and an unregistered vehicle.

SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti confirmed that two suspected smugglers — Prabhjot Singh alias Sukha, a resident of Atta village near Goraya, and Satwinder Singh of Mazari village near Banga — were intercepted at a police checkpoint following a tip-off. Authorities recovered 20 grams of intoxicant powder, 9 grams of heroin, and a scooter without a registration plate from the duo.

Both individuals have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is ongoing.

In a separate incident, the Satnampura police arrested Pardeep Kumar of Hadiabad at another checkpoint. He was found in possession of 6 grams of heroin and has also been charged under the NDPS Act.

Officials reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling drug networks across the region.
