POPLARVILLE, Miss. (VDN) — Three individuals were arrested Wednesday evening after a traffic stop in Poplarville uncovered methamphetamine concealed inside a sweet tea container, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office reported.
On August 6, 2025, at approximately 7:20 p.m., a patrol deputy stopped a maroon SUV on South Main Street in Poplarville for a traffic violation. The vehicle’s occupants were identified as Briana Harris, 27, and Patrick Russell, 33, both residing at 58 Lanell Odom Road, and Javaze Bowden, 29, of 10 Moore Road, all from Poplarville.
The deputy, upon developing probable cause, searched the vehicle and discovered a white plastic bag hidden inside a plastic jug labeled Milo’s Sweet Tea. After pouring out the tea, the deputy recovered two bags containing methamphetamine.
All three suspects were subsequently booked into the Pearl River County Jail. They face charges including tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
