The Bowenpally Police have uncovered that a robbery complaint made by Arun Kumar Bahera, alleging police involvement, was entirely fabricated. Arun and his associate, Samarendra Dass, were arrested after it was revealed that the complainant had stolen Rs 5 lakh entrusted to him by his boss and falsely blamed the crime on two police officers.
On March 22, Arun Kumar Bahera filed a police complaint claiming that two individuals—one in uniform and one in plain clothes—stopped him near the Congress Gandhian Ideology Centre at around 9:35 pm. He stated that he was en route to deliver a bag containing Rs 5 lakh to his assistant branch manager when the police allegedly checked his vehicle documents, seized the cash, and fled the scene.
The Bowenpally Police swiftly registered the case, but upon reviewing the complaint and examining Arun’s inconsistent statements, the investigators grew suspicious. Their doubts led to a detailed interrogation, during which Arun admitted to fabricating the robbery story. He confessed that he and his associate, Samarendra Dass, had planned to steal the money and falsely accuse the police of the crime.
The investigation continued, and the police eventually recovered the full Rs 5 lakh from Samarendra Dass’s residence. The successful resolution of the case was made possible due to the persistent efforts and thorough interrogation techniques of the Bowenpally Police team.
